Have you ever thought that your lifestyle could be the reason for not being in shape? This is a very common problem for the majority of people. A very static and stuck up lifestyle is the reason for people to gain weight and stay in a body they don’t love. This is a problem that reflects not only your health but on your self-confidence. Some people just don’t see the bigger picture. It’s not just about eating healthy, the bigger problem is that you live a stuck up lifestyle. There are number of problems out there that lead you to a poor physical and mental form.
Changing just one problem it’s not always enough. You must take a closer look at how you live your life and think about what you can change. You should probably change a number of things to succeed or at least to make some baby steps to success. One of the biggest reasons for your shape might be the lack of any movement life. This is just normal for people who work 9/5 jobs and don’t have the time for any sort of exercise. The point is that you must consider a change! Don’t be afraid of the change, just embrace it and things will get better, sooner or later

Why don’t things work well for you?
Time to understand why things don’t work for you. First off, think about how much time a day you spend sitting, doing little to no physical engagement? Yeah, that much … well, this is problem number one. Think of a way how you can change that, it is really important! Even a little change is good for a start, later we will talk about improving further in this.
How much homemade food do you eat compared to the packed food from the local market? I strongly recommend you to start eating more homemade food that is more focused on vegetables and fruits than packed food from the grocery store. The reason behind this is quite simple, the food you bought from the store is often stacked with ingredients that are bad for your health. Also, most of the bought food contains the key ingredients that make you gain weight.
Lastly, when you cook your own food you can put whatever you want and the bought food is already made and you cannot know how they made it or exactly what they put in it. The key point here is that you can regulate the calories you put in the food you cook and you can’t do that with the food you consume from the local store.
I will mention one more time that you must try to reduce, if not completely, cut the packed food from your daily consumption.
I’m telling you right here and right now I am not the biggest fan of strict diets. And the reason is, simply, there are more effective ways instead. Some diets may help you lose weight, but in the long-term, they might cause you more health problems than you had before starting the diet. Usually, the diets have this ”yo-yo” effect that makes you bring back the weight you lost double. I believe that simple meal prep can do 10 times better job with 0 chance of hurting your health. The same can’t be said for some of the 30 days or 90 days diets you can find almost anywhere.

Another thing I want to point out is that when things finally start to get better you need to try to improve even further and you must not get LAZY! Laziness is the key ingredient to get back at the beginning, where you were. People tend to get lazy when things are good but remember what it costed you to get to this moment of your life. Always think of what you can improve no matter how little it is. Just don’t get stuck in one point that will get you to start degrading.
Lastly, let’s talk about depression. It’s a state of mind that led many people to gain lots of weight and not only but led them to things even worse than that. The number one depression killer is sport. Sport kills depression faster than anything else. It’s because when you exercise your body, you release the ”happiness” hormone mainly dopamine which makes you feel better after the workout. A 20 min run in the park could work wonders for you. We will talk more about this later.
How to make things work well for you?
To improve your mind and body you must change your life and start with daily routines. This is a great starting point not only for your weight but to build discipline. No matter how busy you are, you should find at least 15-20 minutes of your time for a routine no matter if it’s in the morning or after work. Do stretching, do yoga, or do some push-ups, its all good for you.
Best is to do something that involves more movement and makes you sweat more. The movement is life! Start running in the local park or in the neighborhood streets, it doesn’t matter where but do it! If running isn’t your thing you can play basketball with friends, it involves cardio. You must try to burn those calories!
Get. Some. Sleep.
This is something that not many people think about, but do you get enough sleep? Sometimes, not getting enough sleep is the reason why so many things you do and try to lose weight are not going well. This is a big problem. The lack of sleep could lead to serious health problems and I am not talking about just gaining weight and being nervous. The lack of sleep could lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and even heart attack. Combining it with being overweight becomes a serious problem.
The last change you can make is not that big but is also a thing that needs to be considered and I’m talking about drinking enough water. Just think for a second, what are we made of? We are 85% water. The lack of water in your body could also lead to some serious problems, the most common of which are frequent headaches, dizziness, lack of concentration, etc. Simply, drink more water to stay hydrated. Put lemon or some other citrus in your water for better taste and more vitamins.
How these changes helped me.
When I started to change my lifestyle I have never felt so good in my body! Before that, I had this daily routine that was lacked movements, bad food choices, depression, etc.
I’m a very positive and smiley person and I have begun losing this person. I had to change anything! If you don’t know… let me tell you how much the bad choice of food and lack of movements can impact your mind and body. I was eating everything, without even think how can reflect my body. My daily work is little to no movement and I’m sitting 10+ hours per day. Can you imagine how this lifestyle can impact your health?
How I changed my life.
Everything I wrote in this post helped me to change my life! First off, I started to move. I bought this Insanity Workout program and start to move. Believe me, I hate running, but I had to move and I had to sweat for my health and my body. This workout that Shaun T created is unbelievable! I always recommend it because it helped me a lot! And there were no excuses if I worked 12h at work or I was on a vacation because I had a program and I had to follow it.
Unfortunately, on day 50 I hurt my back and I had to stop the exercises. I’m still fighting this issue, it almost has gone but I’m still afraid of completing the program. But hey! There is good news – I was reborn! I found myself practicing yoga! I couldn’t stop moving again even when my back hurt. I’ve made so much to be at this point in my life when I finally loved my body and I couldn’t throw away everything and to start from the beginning! I started to take medicaments and do slow exercises.
But I will talk about yoga another time and how it helped me with my pain and weight loss!
Let’s talk about food.
After I changed my lack of movement life, I become more cautious about what I ate. I reduced the bought food to the minimum and start cooking more frequently.
I started to pay attention to what I eat between the meals, I started to eat more fruits and more vegetables.
Do you know that even healthy food can taste good? True that! I love green food, salads, vegetables, fruits, etc. And the secret is that you need to learn how to cook it properly! This is a good example of a book that can change your life and make you love even broccoli! I always recommend two products that everyone needs in the beginning. The first one is the Healthy Meal Prep Cookbook and the second is Meal Prep Containers that are required if you want to prepare and store your food for days and start eating healthy.
I learned how to eat healthy food, how to cook it, how to move, how to workout the right way, and how to love myself. The point is, that this body is given to us, we live in it and we have to take care of it. The body is part of us and if we don’t take care of it, where are we going to live?
How to eat the right healthy food for you.
The breakfast is considered to be the most important meal of the day. If you are busy and you don’t have enough time to make your own breakfast you can make a smoothie for 5 mins at most, which is equal to one healthy breakfast. Normal healthy breakfast could be as simple as a toast with avocado and eggs, which are good proteins and good sources of energy. Or another healthy breakfast is oats with yogurt and fruits.
The lunch should include vegetables, salads, chicken, fish and fewer things like french fries which have a lot of carbs in. Eat less fried food!
In between meals, you should reduce the snacks which are rich in carbs, sugar, etc. and exchange them for fruits, crackers, nuts like almonds which are rich in proteins. But don’t take more than 60 grams of almonds or any other nuts per day because they may be rich in proteins and vitamin E but they are also rich in calories.
Meal prep is one of the ways that can help you be more productive during the week and get done some things and you can have more time to do some exercise, for example.
Choose one day or two of the week in which you will make your meal prep for the rest of it. This will save you time and you will know that you have healthy food stored and ready to eat. This will help you in more than one way.
